Outgoing WNBC-TV anchor Sue Simmons was caught telling a story about something hitting her breast before the station’s 11 p.m. newscast Monday.
After the credits for “Smash” faded out, the station switched to a tease, when Simmons could be heard, apparently at the end of telling a story.
Co-anchor Chuck Scarbourough can be heard saying “are we on?” shortly after, and then picked up with the script.
You would think Simmons might have learned her lesson after a 2008 incident in which she dropped an F-bomb during a live tease she thought was being taped.
Along the same lines, there’s also the incident of Simmons falling off her chair on the set several years ago.
