As most Google users probably know, Google has been celebrating the World Cup over the past week or so with a special series of Google Doodles that appear on the site’s homepage and other locations.

Doodles are what Google calls the themed versions of its logo that are used during special events, such as the World Cup, holidays and anniversaries (read more and browse a gallery here).

Today’s version of the World Cup doodle plays homage to TV reporters with the first “G” and “o” playing the role of boom operator and cameraperson, respectively, the second “o” becoming a reporter and the second “g” standing in for an interviewee (the “l” and “e” are seen inside a goal to the right of the other letters).
