Users of the “Today” iOS app were treated to an update for “bug fixes” — but it appears another update was made to the app listing page to remove fired anchor Matt Lauer’s name from the description.
Before the update, the app description read, in part, “Stay up to date with Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Willie Geist, Carson Daly and the rest of the Today family.”
That description now reads “Stay up to date with Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Willie Geist, Carson Daly and the rest of the Today family.”
It’s likely another app listing update will roll out soon though — it looks like NBC missed one tiny reference to Lauer.
The fourth screenshot of the iPhone previews provided on the app store still shows as of 2:41 p.m. eastern time Nov. 30, 2017, a tiny photo of Lauer at the Studio 1A anchor desk.
