Bloomberg clocks in with TicToc streaming network branding

Bloomberg has released the name and look for its 24 hour streaming news network for Twitter

The service will be named “TicToc by Bloomberg” — or “TicToc” for short.

Launching Dec. 18, 2017, the service will operate separately from Bloomberg News and have approximately 50 dedicated staffers.

The network will combine live and taped video content from Bloomberg’s existing resources with content culled and verified by the team.

TicToc will be available only via Twitter, a distinction that separates it from other services, such as financial focused Cheddar, which are available on services such as Sling, Roku, Amazon and mobile apps.

For TicToc, Bloomberg has opted for a vibrant bright mint green background with bold black logotype set in a custom version of the font Avenir Next created for Bloomberg.

The branding also uses a light gray background as well.

Given that it’s being streamed via Twitter, it’s no surprise the brand identity also focuses on an avatar-shaped icon shape — two “T”s placed in the upper left and lower right along with a diagonal line running from the top right to lower left.

The result is a footprint that looks roughly like a percentage symbol or, perhaps, the hands of a clock.
