MLB Network has continued a gradual refresh of its Secaucus, N.J., home, this time with an interview area update to Studio 3.
Located adjacent to the main anchor desk, the new interview area replaces large stats-filled “playing cards” in favor of imagery of baseball greatest players, like Jackie Robinson and Roberto Clemente.
The black and white imagery is accompanied by the individual player’s numbers, team logos and autographs, wrapping the space, with glowing frames around each segment.
A baseball shaped riser includes embedded floor lighting with room for multiple chairs while a monitor behind provides topical graphics for interviews and bump shots.
Studio 3 serves as the home of “MLB Tonight” and “MLB Now” and was previously updated with a new stats area directly behind the anchor desk.
HD Studio, led by Bryan Higgason, completed both set updates with fabrication by blackwalnut.
Studio 3 along with Studio 42 debuted with the network in January 2009, taking over space formerly occupied by MSNBC.
