C-SPAN announced it will launch a new weekly television program, “CeaseFire,” in fall 2025.

The program will feature discussions between Democrats and Republicans, focusing on problem-solving and shared challenges in U.S. politics.

According to C-SPAN, “CeaseFire” is intended to address the divisiveness in American political discourse. The program will showcase conversations between political figures from opposite sides of the aisle, with an emphasis on respectful dialogue and common ground.

“In a media landscape that too often rewards outrage over understanding, ‘CeaseFire’ stands out by showing what respectful, principled conversation looks like,” said C-SPAN CEO Sam Feist. He added that C-SPAN’s status as a nonprofit public service organization makes it uniquely positioned to air such a program.

Each episode will typically include two guests, such as members of Congress or other national figures, who do not usually appear together in public forums. Discussions will focus on bipartisan cooperation and constructive political engagement.

C-SPAN described the show as an effort to model the behavior essential for a functioning democracy, without being driven by audience ratings or dramatic conflict.
