‘Nightly’ uses monitor array to showcase first pup

During Tuesday’s edition of “NBC Nightly News,” producers elected to use the set’s monitor array wall to display video of Barack Obama’s new dog Bo. More images after the jump…
The shot included camera movement that pulled back to reveal a freestanding monitor showing the same looped video clip. Also visible in the shot were the starburst-shaped flares from the lighting, which added a dramatic touch to the shot.
It definitely was a good idea to use the standalone monitor in addition to the wall screens since the checkboard-effect can be a bit dizzying and, since the images are smaller, harder to discern.
