Greek newscast shows porn on on-set monitor

On-set monitors may be a great way to show topical graphics or give a set a high tech, connected look, but they also seem to be causing some problems lately.

First WTNH-TV in Hartford, Conn., was caught accidentally showing its competitor, WTIC-TV, on the huge rear projection screen behind its anchors.

Now a Greek station has fallen victim to a similar happening — though this is one far less innocent.

During a recent newscast, one of the two monitors behind its anchor was tuned to ET3’s sister channel ET1, which happened to be airing an erotic film at the time, treating viewers to an unexpected, and perhaps unwelcome, X-rated scene.

While it’s worth nothing that in Greece erotic entertainment is (apparently) not quite as shocking to see on mainstream television — it was, after all, being shown in one of the country’s most popular channels, it still could have made some viewers a bit uncomfortable.

The video clip is below, which does contain, obviously, some graphic footage that may be NSFW.
