NBC’s logo for the 2018 Macy’s Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular was a bit a of a departure from previous year’s looks — switching a bolder, almost militaristic look.
The logo used in NBC’s official telecast of the New York City fireworks display typically changes every year and also typically differs from the one Macy’s uses to promote the event.
It’s also unique to NBC and the local New York stations who opt to air “unofficial” coverage of the events create their own looks sans the Macy’s name.
This year’s look uses a heavy, sans serif font with metallic effects.
The word “Macy’s” is perched atop the logo in a wide typeface and the apostrophe replaced with the company’s iconic star icon.
Below this, the word “4th” is shown in blue with the “th” tucked into the right side of the numeral and the word “of” below this in a silvery-white, which is also used for the word “July” that dominates the rest of the logo.
