As part of coverage of the premiere of HGTV’s “A Very Brady Renovation,” a large set piece recreating the “Brady Bunch” staircase was hauled out onto Rockefeller Plaza Monday, Sept. 9, 2019.

For a teaser, the “Today” team lined up on the staircase — which appears to be a large, freestanding recreation of the original set. The stairs were “practical” — in that they could hold weight — but lead to “nowhere” other than an opening at the top.
“A Very Brady Renovation,” which debuts at 9 p.m. eastern on HGTV, follows the network’s purchase of the house used for exterior establishing shots of the Brady family home on the classic sitcom.
The interior of the actual house, meanwhile, is much different than the sets built for the show on a soundstage — but HGTV has said it’s trying to make the property look as “Brady” as it can.
