In the fall of 2017, Spectrum News NY1 endeavored to launch a new morning show from their headquarters above Chelsea Market in Manhattan. “Mornings on 1,” led by veteran anchor Pat Kiernan, showcases the news from NY1‘s unique perspective as the ultimate New Yorker.

To create the show’s studio environment, the network partnered with Jack Morton Worldwide to imagine a refreshing, modern place to call home. The set design is an inviting, casual space with modern industrial sensibilities inspired by the Chelsea area and the nearby High Line. With warm rusted metal accents, rich wood details and touches of textured concrete, the set is a welcoming place to start the day.

The set boasts three primary areas: a main anchor position, casual interview area and a 1- on-1 discussion location. A range of monitor displays, in surprising compositions, creates dynamic canvases to introduce content into the set and support the news presentations for the viewer.
This same studio transforms, through the built-in lighting and video displays, to host the evening news and special event broadcasts as well.
