Comcast to move Philly properties to new building

Comcast will break ground on a new 59-story building this summer, dubbed the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center at 1800 Arch Street.

“It will be a melting pot of talent and people who want to change the world in the businesses that we are in,” said Comcast CEO Brian Roberts in a statement.

Once complete, the building will be the tallest in Philadelphia, surpassing Comcast’s current headquarters by 150 feet.

Comcast owned WCAU-TV and WWSI-TV will move to the new structure.

“There won’t be any other television station like it in the country,” said David Cohen, Comcast’s executive vice president.

The studios will not be located on the ground floor, but the outdoor plaza will be usable for live shots.

The building will also include shopping, restaurants and a hotel on the top 13 floors.
