‘Wake Up’ makes switch to new home

“Wake Up with Al” recently switched to a new set, after using the “NBC Nightly News” set temporarily. The new set features a large flat panel display in the center, flanked by backlit columns and panels inset with additional monitors. Hosts Al Roker and Stephanie Abrams present the show from standing positions, most frequently in the setup shown above.

“Wake Up with Al” previously used one of NBC’s so-called “news nooks” in the network’s insert studios. Backed with colorful printed graphics, a mobile flat panel and large touchscreen, the set always came across as a bit cheap and temporary.

The show originally was broadcast from studios in New York and Atlanta, the latter being where Abrams was based at the time.
