Over at CBS affiliate WFOR-TV, coverage is under the “Hurricane Matthew: Storm Watch” moniker, with the red warning flags making a prominent appearance in the graphics as well.
The market’s NBC O&O, WTVJ-TV is used the large video wall behind its anchor desk to show the radar loop of the approaching storm, which also appears in the lower right next to the bug except when a lower third is inserted.
Elsewhere, the station is using its relatively new Look N graphics package to its full advantage, including updates from local officials in the ticker.
The lower thirds are also used for additional information, including current wind speed.
In addition, NBC has dispatched its “StormRanger” vehicles equipped with portable radar to the southeastern United States.
