LiveU, a bonded cellular solutions provider, has booked a record number of units for the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

For the games in PyeongChang, LiveU is providing 4K HEVC live video coverage for the first time at a major event supporting broadcasters from over 40 countries.

“Demand for units has been higher than expected with bookings from broadcasters across five continents,” said Ronen Artman of LiveU. “We’re thrilled that we can offer our customers the latest 4K HEVC transmission technology so they can follow the athletes’ progress and offer behind-the-scenes coverage around the stadiums, arenas and slopes with unmatched quality and reliability.”

LiveU’s LU600 portable transmission unit with the 4K HEVC Pro card will be the workhorse of the efforts, as it provides bandwidth efficiency and one of the smallest footprints for bonded cellular.
