In addition to making the set look more expansive, the augmented rings also serve a practical purpose — as a sort of “portal” that additional infographics can descend from.
The rings can also be used for a ring of “hanging” flags showcasing the many nations that make up the World Cup.
Additional augmented reality elements include a floating field along with jerseys representing players and their positions.
Key people, including players and coaches can also be inserted into the studio on giant floating panels.
