‘Today’ debuts new desk during weekend edition

NBC’s “Today Show” changed up its weekend edition with a new desk. Styled to match the current set, the desk has a built in monitor and backlit paneling.

“Today” continues to tweak its home, instead of fully updating the space, creating a mishmash of design.

The new desk can seat up to four, allowing the whole weekend team to sit as one.

Sadly, the main edition of “Today” is not using this desk.

  1. I checked the video of this morning's show, and they're back on the old desk for the weekday edition. John

  3. This new 'Today' anchor desk showing up on the weekend editions doesn't look too bad... and it remains to be seen if the weekday editions will get it. We're aware of the window looking out to the plaza from the set getting a face-lift during the Olympics. I would be open to seeing the 'Today' studio getting completely made-over eventually. Another thing that I'd likely be interested in seeing... 'Today' going back to its original 2-hour format... NBC reviving the 'Later Today' talk show, with Kathie Lee and Hoda co-hosting with 3 additional women (it be compared to 'The Talk' and 'The View')... NBC keeping 'Days of our Lives' on the air. 'GMA' has had its current Times Square studio since 1999... not sure if that morning program's studio and set will be getting made-over eventually. 'CBS This Morning' has been at CBS' Studio 57 since January, and has a very nice round-table set... the former 'CBS Early Show' was at Trump Plaza for 13 years. Eric

    • 'GMA' debuted an updated set earlier this year, and at the same time, moved to the first floor of the studio. The upstairs, where the show use to come from, is now open. Dak Dillon
