Studio N5 went on-air on December 12, 2020, as part of the newly expanded NBC News Washington, D.C. bureau near Capitol Hill.
Following a fire in January 2019 at the facility, NBC News completely remodeled the space along with expanding to additional floors in the building, adding a studio in the first floor and seventh floor.
The revised Studio N5 expands upon the existing studio footprint adding 250 square feet of space while returning the signature window view of Capitol Hill. The previous iteration of Studio N5, which went offline after the fire, had removed the window view in favor of LED display technology.
MSNBC’s “Cross Connection,” “The Sunday Show” and “Weekend Today” currently broadcast from Studio N5.
