How the new ‘Today’ design ties in with other NBC News properties

The new Studio 1A, home of “Today,” ties into many of NBC News‘ trademark looks — while still managing to have a unique, standout interpretation of these elements.

Here are some of the design trends and similar design language NewscastStudio spotted.

Mullioned ‘windows’

The mullioned “window” look used in the corner of Studio 3A most frequently used by MSNBC and on the network’s fourth floor newsroom, can be found not only in Studio 1A’s real windows, but also virtually in many of the 40-foot video wall’s imagery.

The use of video walls as mullioned windows actually has roots in older NBC designs, including Studio 3B, also by Clickspring.
